Kairic Acolytes

Kairic Acolytes, also known as the Chanters of Change, are the human cultists of the Tzeentch who serve their god among the Tzeentch Arcanites. They have made terrible sacrifices for promises of knowledge and power, spending decades becoming worthy enough to pass the Kairic Test of Nine. They walk among the unsuspecting in disguise, staying hidden and patiently waiting for the right time to strike. When that time comes, they hurl their collective magical power in the form of searing bolts of lightning, punishing those who survive with sinister curved blades.

Kairic acolytes are recruited from all walks of life, from tribesmen misled by an arcane reputation to seekers of forbidden knowledge or power-hungry public servants, all sharing an ambitious ambition. Arcanite Cults target such aspirants with great care, taking years or even decades to seduce potential suitors who will one day serve the Architect of Destiny. Only those who are fully committed can pass the Kairic Test of the Nine. While rites vary from cult to cult, all end with passage through warpfire and only those who emerge unscathed become Kairic Acolyths.

Kairic Acolytes are capable of shapeshifting into a muscular ideal of the human form, making weapons appear out of thin air, chanting arcane phrases that hurt the ears of the uninitiated, and similarly reverting to their normal form. This allows Kairic Acolytes to infiltrate and undermine their Hunters' powers.

While still unable to cast more complex spells, they are capable of unleashing an arcane salvo, and through combined worship their arcane power can swell to new levels of ferocity.

Kairic Acolytes are armed with Cursed Blades, either paired with an Arcanite Shield that can protect against both physical and magical attacks, or another Cursed Blade to knock aside enemy weapons for a cleaner hit in close combat. Others may wear a Cursed Glaive instead.

Some may carry a Dark Arts Scroll into battle to bolster their allies' magical abilities. They are accompanied by Vulcharcs, a flying creature that sits on its arm and attacks enemy wizards. The Kairic Acolytes are human in nature and followers of Tzeentch. In this kit you get enough parts to build 20 Kairic Acolytes.
