Description

Katherine's origins can be traced back to the late 35th millennium, during the Age of Apostasy and the rise of the renegade High Lord of Terra Goge Vandire. Through political maneuvering, blackmail, and outright murder, Vandire managed to assume the mantle of both Highlord of the Administratum and Ecclesiarch of the Adeptus Ministorum. Vandire sought to impose his own rule over the Empire in place of the Emperor, using the power of the two Adepta he controlled to eliminate anyone who opposed him.

Thus began the period in Imperial history known as the "Reign of Blood." Through trickery and manipulation, the newfound sect known as the Emperor's Daughters of the world of San Leor was co-opted to become Vandire's personal bodyguard and was renamed the Emperor's Brides.

Katherine Elysius later founded her own order of militants, the Order of the Fiery Heart. Her sisters reflected her vengeful and fiery nature. She led her order for many solar decades, and was declared a living saint while she was still alive for accomplishing deeds that would become legendary even in a galaxy of legends.

But such legends seldom have happy endings, and first Dominica, then Silvana and Lucia, were martyred by evil men, men jealous of their faith and purity. Katherine was murdered by the witch cult of Mnesteus.

Her sisters were so saddened by Katherine's loss that they renamed their Order of Militant the Order of Our Martyr. Unbeknownst to the Order, she had visited the world of Sanctus Lys in the Palatine Sector shortly before Katherine's untimely death.

Beneath a shrine, in a hidden crypt, Katherine had buried her golden power armor and her legendary power sword, the Ardent Blade. These powerful artifacts were finally found centuries later when they were recovered from the living saint, Saint Celestine, during the Palatine Crusade.

Accompanying the blessed bier, bearing the skeletal remains of Saint Katherine in her reliquary armor, are six members of the Order of Pronatus. Each of these handpicked specimens of the Adepta Sororitas embodies one of the canonized matriarchs of the six original orders:

  • •Saint Katherine, Order of Our Martyred Lady
  • •Saint Dominica, Order of the Ebon Chalice
  • •Saint Mina, Order of the Bloody Rose
  • •Saint Silvana, Order of the Argent Veil
  • • St. Lucia, Order of the Brave Heart
  • •Saint Arabella, Order of the Sacred Rose

This set comes as 85 plastic components, and is supplied with a Citadel 120mm Molded Oval base.
