Description

Tartaros Pattern Terminator armor was originally developed concurrently with several other patterns of tactical armor in the final years of the Great Crusade.

The extreme rarity of these suits means that these priceless armors are currently reserved only for the most respected veterans of a Chapter's already highly skilled 1st Company.

The Tartaros pattern is perhaps the most advanced form of Terminator armor ever developed. It shares many systems with the Mark IV Maximus pattern of power armor and offers its wearer incredible freedom of movement compared to the Indomitus pattern without sacrificing durability or protection.

Of the common features between the Tartaros and Maximus pattern armors, the most obvious is the helm, although there are other, more subtle ones, such as the armor's design on the back of Tartaros' legs or the bracers and gauntlets.

The Tartaros pattern also appears to share design traits with the Contemptor Dreadnought, particularly in the torso plate design. There are also features inherited or derived from the venerable Cataphractii pattern Terminator armor, the pauldrons being the more obvious of these.

Contents:

This multi-part plastic kit contains 10 Tartaros Terminators for use in games of Warhammer: The Horus Heresy as a 10-model Legion Terminator Tartaros Squad or two 5-model units. Each of these Terminators is armed with a Tigris-patterned combo-bolter and either a power fist, chain fist, or lightning claw – you can also swap out the combo-bolter for a pair of lightning claws. The box also includes two Volkite chargers and two power swords, as well as a variety of other special weapons - two each of heavy flamethrowers, plasma blasters and Reaper autocannons. Components are included to build a Tartaros Sergeant for each of your squads, with specialized torsos, loincloths and pauldrons, as well as alternate heads and two grenade harnesses.

These models do not have legion markings, allowing Warhammer hobbyists to paint them in the colors of their choice - however, the box includes a transfer sheet with 339 optional markings and iconography for the Sons of Horus and Imperial Fists legions. This set comes as 204 plastic components, and is supplied with 10x Citadel 40mm Round Bases and 1x Legiones Astartes Infantry Transfer Sheet. These miniatures are supplied unpainted and require assembly - we recommend using Citadel Plastic Glue and Citadel Paints.
