StuG III

Blitzkrieg! German Infantry

Description

The StuG III was a well-armed and armored vehicle based on the proven Pz.Kpfw III chassis. Originally manned with artillery as it was considered a mobile howitzer, it went through many variants during WWII and was in fact one of the few German AFVs to serve on all fronts throughout the war.

The StuG III had good frontal armor, its low profile made it ideal for ambushes and was a poor target for return fire. It is armed with an efficient and powerful 75mm gun and carries a MG42 for close-range defence.

The StuGs were greeted by their fellow infantrymen, supported their attacks with HE shells, or knocked out enemy tanks so far that by the end of hostilities they had accumulated more kills than any other German vehicle.

This highly detailed plastic kit can be built as either a StuG III Ausf G self-propelled gun or a 10.5 cm self-propelled howitzer infantry support gun.
