Spires: Bound Clones

Without the mental toughness to join the Directory, or the beauty to serve the Lineages directly as servants, the vast majority of Decanted Clones find their way into the ranks of the Bound, the professional forces maintained by each Sovereign Lineage. Clothed, fed, equipped and trained at the line's expense, these soldiers are kept on standby for those tasks that require a fully conscious mind and could not be entrusted to a servile drone. This should not lead to the conclusion that their lives mean more to their masters, but that their masters expect more for the investment in their continued existence.
