Space Marines Primaris Reivers
Typically part of a Reiver squad, a Reiver is a melee specialist used only in formations of Primaris Space Marines, responsible for rapid infiltration and lightning attacks. Where the Intercessors are the heavy infantry of the Primaris Astartes, the Reivers are elite assault specialists who receive special training and Equipment.
Reivers are masters of terror tactics, breaking out of stealth in a cacophony of bolter fire, grenade detonations, and throaty, Vox-enhanced roars. Entire enemy units are crushed in a burst of sudden anger and shocking violence before the Reivers retreat into The Shadows.
The Phobos Mark X power armor worn by Reivers has been modified to feature a skull-faced helm, enlarged left-side pauldrons to increase its protection in close-quarters combat, and to run completely silent.
Armed primarily for hand-to-hand combat, Reivers all wield Combat Knives, Power Swords, Heavy Bolt Pistols, and handheld, deadly versions of the Bolt Rifle. Reivers can also stun enemy infantry with concussion grenades, or deploy deep behind enemy lines with grapnel launchers or grav-chutes.
In Codex Astartes, Roboute Guilliman made the role and importance of close support squads very clear. A well-coordinated and perfectly timed attack can crush the spine of any enemy, shattering their lines and routing the remnants of their army. In order to carry out such breakthrough attacks, the deployed troops must be fast, aggressive and powerful.
All Space Marines are experts at fast attacks, but the Primaris Marine Reiver Squads take those skills to the next level. They are specially trained and equipped to launch brutally effective and unexpected attacks. They do so with sudden fury and shocking violence, as the Reiver Squads fulfill the role of terrorist squads, sowing fear and confusion among their enemies.
Each member of this Primaris squad wears Mark X Reiver Power Armor, also known as Phobos Armor. The suit's lighter Ceramite and streamlined design allow for greater mobility, and its servomotors are engineered to be completely silent. Reiver Squads rely primarily on stealth and secrecy to complete their missions.
To aid in their role, some Reiver Squads are equipped with grav-chutes, allowing them to be airdropped onto the battlefield from fast-moving transport ships. With directional fins, the Reiver Squad can glide to its target from high altitudes and extricate itself from steep cliffs when deployed from high-speed aircraft, hugging Terrain contours while flying dangerously low.
Without the fiery vapor trails of Jumptroopers or the blinding warp energies of teleportation, Reiver Squads can sneak behind enemy lines before silently dropping into position. Reivers can also use grapple cannons to scale great heights and move from building to building. Whatever their method, Reivers are unparalleled in their ability to be in the right place at exactly the right time, ready to burst forth and attack their foe when they least expect it.
Nothing can prepare an enemy for the ferocious suddenness with which the Reivers attack. Emerging from an unexpected angle, the members of Reiver Squad charge into battle amid the raucous noise and explosions of their expertly thrown concussion grenades.
The period of silence is over, replaced by a cacophony of sounds pummeling the enemy – wave-amplified explosions from specially modified bolt-action carbines, the wail of cutting combat knives, and the amplified throaty roar of the warriors themselves.
The Reiver Squad moves fast, shooting and striking at superhuman speeds, devastating their targets. Such an unpredictable attack also unsettles the people nearby, because the blow is enough to leave even well-trained professional soldiers behind.
Against less disciplined troops, the Reiver Squad is even more devastating - the ruthless destruction of an enemy group can set off a chain reaction of panic that spreads down the line as the roaring Reivers move to bring down their next target.
This set contains all components to assemble ten Primaris Reivers. The models are unpainted and require assembly.
