The martial skills of the tengu are legendary throughout the Golden Empire. Though few in number, these long lives of bird yokai give them ample time not only to master the martial arts but also to learn the secrets of the kami who call the mountains home. Hidden in their hill towns and guarded by the devoted hill tribes, few have ever seen these mysterious warriors. What brought Sojobo out of the mountains and to the aid of the Tengus' old allies, the Temple, is unknown. Sojobo's skill in battle is unmatched by few. Now that he has spread his great wings and left his mountain home, only so can the spirits and prospects of the people of the Rokan be lifted.
