Myrmidesh Painbringers
Myrmidesh Painbringers are members of an elite Slaaneshi warrior cult. Each member considers themselves a paragon of struggle and prides themselves on facing death in the most painful - yet beautiful - way. They are members of the Slaanesh sybarites who delight only in the thrust of combat and embody the Dark Prince's martial pride. Indeed, they see themselves above most other members of their carnival, stoic and uncaring, where others are depraved and crass.
Though the number of orders increases as Slaanesh grows in power, joining the ranks of the Myrmidesh is still no easy feat. The aspiring Painbringer must endure six harrowing trials, each of which gradually escalates into a visceral assault on body and senses. The final test is the most grueling, as an aspirant must ingest six intoxicating potions before battling a host of progressively more powerful foes, even as his vision is flooded with mind-altering hallucinations. Only the truly skilled assassins who survive such an experience (and ignore all other distractions and temptations) are admitted to the Myrmidesh.
Each Myrmidesh sect is dedicated to one aspect of a form of combat known as the Dance of the Wailing Blade. The specifics of such a fight do not matter; They can parry enemy blows before unleashing a single perfect counter-strike, or weave their evil scimitars in a serpentine vortex that overwhelms even the strongest defenses; As long as it causes crippling agony to its victims, it's acceptable.
Myrmidesh cohorts wait with unnatural silence at the heart of the battle line, watching the approach of charging enemies (or those driven mad by the Blissbarb's arrows). Then, quick and sudden like a viper, they strike, leaving their foes in the throes of debilitating spasms before moving on to their next kill. On the rare occasions when a Painbringer's perfected technique fails, its true colors are revealed; with a howl of vicious rage they sink into a frenzy of wild, atavistic blows. Only when the attacking enemy is down to just one more bloody mark on the earth will the Painbringer revert to their former sense of false decency, the facade returning as suddenly as it dissipates.
This 86 part plastic kit makes five Myrmidesh Painbringer for Warhammer Age of Sigmar. It is supplied with five Citadel 32mm Round Bases. The kit can alternatively be built as Symbaresh Twinsouls.
