Saurus Guard
The bone-helmed guardians of the Slann, the Saurus Guard are chosen from among the largest and strongest of the Saurus. They are the scaled shield that protects the ancient masters of the Seraphon, and the snapping jaws that crush any who dare take up arms against them. Loyal to their master, the Saurus Guard are the personal guardians of the Slann. Wearing thick skull helms and heavy celestite polearms, they close ranks around their master in battle, forming a living wall of armored hides and snapping fangs.
Foes brave or insane enough to attempt to strike a Slann must first face the wrath of the Saurus Guard, and the long life of the Starmasters is a testament to the fact that few succeed. Even other Seraphon approach the Slann with caution, as the Saurus Guard relentlessly protect the ancient wizards.
The Saurus Guard are unique among the Seraphones in that their celestial forms are inextricably linked to a specific Slann, ensuring that they can only be summoned by a single Starmaster for as long as it exists. During the long periods that a Slann dwells in deep contemplation, the Saurus guard often deals with their more mundane enemies, allowing their master to continue his meditations undisturbed.
For untold centuries, many legends have been told about the Saurus Guard and their deeds, such as dividing the Valley of Statues. During the battle, the Slann Lumqu was only spared when his Saurus Guard formed a shield dome over himself, its folded arms shielding him from the Brazen Gargant's descending foot.
The Obsidian War tells a similar story. When Yanquala dueled the twin soul caster of Nizt, the Slann bodyguard defended his sluggish form. Five hundred seasons passed on the Splintered Plains repelling attacks, and generations of tribesmen were born and slain during that battle. When Yanquala finally emerged triumphant from his trance, he beheld a plane of bones surrounding his guardians.
A unit of the Saurus Guard wields heavy Celestite Polearms and devastates their foes with their Powerful Jaws and Stardrake Shields. The leader of this unit is the Alpha Guard. Everyone in this unit can wield Stardrake symbols that pulse with the terrifying essence of a celestial predator. Anyone in this unit may carry wardens.
This multi-part plastic kit contains enough Parts to assemble an impressive fifteen Saurus Guard miniatures, armed with Celestite heavy polearms and Stardrake shields. A model can optionally be assembled as an Alpha Guardian with your own decorative pieces.
