Raven Guard Kayvaan Shrike

Kayvaan Shrike is the current Master of Shadows of the Raven Guard. Before the fall of Prefectia, he was the Shadow Captain of the Order's 3rd Company.

After rising through the ranks of the Raven Guard from a lowly neophyte, Shrike rose to command 3rd Company after his predecessor Alerin was buried in a dreadnought and Corvin Severax was made Chapter Master.

Shrike is best known for his actions during Targus VIII's campaign against Waaagh! Skullkrak invading the Targus system in 862.M41. The 3rd Company was originally tasked with eliminating the Orcs' orbital defenses, a task they quickly completed but were stranded on the planet when the Thunderhawk gunship that was supposed to extract them was destroyed in orbit

Without pausing, Shrike led his company in a two-year guerrilla campaign behind Orc lines, striking at vulnerable supplies without warning and providing invaluable intelligence to the Navy ships in orbit. Shrike's mastery of guerrilla tactics was such that he and his men were all but untouchable, striking at the orcs with impunity and then disappearing without a trace into the ruined Hive cities.

Thanks to Shrike and company, the Targus campaign ended decades before Imperial tacticians predicted. When the 3rd Company pulled out of Targus, the entire system hailed him as a hero.

Rise

Shrike went on to perform equally masterful actions against orcs in the Donara and Yakhee systems. He is now considered an almost mythical figure on many Imperial worlds; Every time Orcs invade, desperate citizens beg the Emperor to send Shrike to rescue them. He and his men keep fighting Waaagh! skull crack When Shrike is aware that his aid is constantly being requested by high-ranking commanders in the Imperial Guard and Navy, he ignores them in the theaters where the Orcs harry them most. He and his men save their efforts for those worlds already ceded to the greenskins, whose civilian populations are about to be completely consumed by the invading orcs. Among these people, Shrike is a savior angel and a source of whispered terror among Skullkraks Boyz. Shrike has also trained a special forces unit known as the Shrike's Wing

Gear

In addition to his Phobos Pattern power armor, Shrike is equipped with a jump pack, frag and krak grenades, and an Iron Halo

His primary weapons are the bolt pistol known as the Blackout and the Raven's Talons, an ancient pair of expertly crafted Lightning Claws. Reportedly made by Corax himself after the Drop Site Massacre, the Talons are said to be completely unbreakable and capable of penetrating even the thickest vehicle armor.
