Orks Megatrakk Scrapjet

This multi-part plastic kit contains the components necessary to assemble one Megatrakk Scrapjet. Built around the fuselage of a downed Ork plane, the Scrapjet is pretty much a metal tube covered in things that kill enemies - a front-mounted Rokkit cannon (with belt-fed Rokkits!), missiles that fire during launch a drill attached to the front turbine with associated spike rams, a twin big shoota up front and another twin big shoota crewed by a grot rear gunner. While the wings were snapped off in the horrific crash that brought the Scrapjet to the ground, it's still covered in fins and ailerons - after all, they look cool, and that's what being a flyboy means! The pilot himself wears a flight jacket, goggles, and a long scarf that spreads out behind him, and sits in a cockpit full of instruments (which he, of course, ignores). The Scrapjet is powered by a huge jet exhaust at the rear, which propels the vehicle via the rear-mounted caterpillar wheels.

This kit comes as 65 components, and is supplied with a Citadel 150mm Oval base.

A Megatrakk Scrapjet is a wrecked Ork aircraft that has been converted into a fast combat vehicle at the behest of its downed pilot. The Megatrakk Scrapjet is a favorite among speed freeks and grounded flyboyz alike.

They offer rocket-powered acceleration, impressive firepower, and the hilarious pleasure of smashing through enemy lines at the tip of what is essentially a giant, thrust-powered drill.

Better still, all of this costs considerably less tea than buying a real Dakkajet. These vehicles allow a downed greenskin pilot to get back into the cockpit while reveling in the half-remembered pleasures of mowing down the enemy at close range.

Of course, in some cases it was precisely this desire that caused the Flyboy to crash in the first place.

Ork planes are the terror of the skies. Dakkajets hurtle through the clouds, firing madly at everything in sight - be it friend, foe, or conveniently placed geographic feature - while bombers fly dangerously low over the battlefield as they attempt to deliver their devastating payloads.

Despite all their brutal aggression and unbridled enthusiasm, many Ork Flyboyz lack that certain something in the fine art of not being shot down.

Accordingly, after most engagements, Meks and enterprising Deathskulls are seen securing the battered wreckage of numerous downed planes and hauling them away for scrap.

Should the fuselage of such a plane be relatively intact, the speed-mad Meks will happily weld tracks, engines, cannons, and—ideally—the largest drill or saw they can find onto it. This is how Megatrakk Scrapjets are made.

It's considered unwise to suggest that the wreck could easily have been converted into another, working aircraft - Meks don't like having their work questioned, and this is a quick way to a skull full of six-inch rivets , or an involuntary ride in the "test pilot's" chair.

Armament

The arsenal of Weapons welded, bolted and lashed to Megatrakk Scrapjets is terrifying, allowing their drivers to pull off ground-based strafing runs before screeching nose picks through all survivors.

Explosions bloom amid enemy lines as rokkits and wing-mounted missiles collide with their targets.

Blood and guts spurt high into the air as infantry squads are reduced to a red pulp, and sparks fly as barricades and vehicle hulls are breached with ease.

Meanwhile, grot rear gunners strapped to the vehicles' rear-facing turrets fire with cackling Big Shootas, finishing off any shell-shocked victims—or at least making their corpses Dance.
