The barn reverberated with the lively chatter of soldiers, grateful for the opportunity to rest after weeks of relentless fighting. In times of peace, none of them would have welcomed the idea of sleeping in a barn. Yet, in the present circumstances, it felt like a luxury—a refuge from the turmoil of battle, where they could find solace and respite.
