The effective use of artillery was still in its infancy at this time. Most of the guns were heavy and unwieldy, and once deployed would typically not move during combat. Trained artillerymen were also rare, and soldiers from the ranks were often drafted to help move or man the guns.
In this box set you will find all the Parts needed to create three artillery pieces. This is a selection of barrels that allows you to choose either eight pounder or twelve pounder options. Each cannon is manned by four crew members, each with a variety of head and arm options so you can mix and match their appearance as you see fit. Their clothing and appearance allow them to be used as a generic artillery crew for most European nations during this period. Also included are spare barrels, buckets and rounds to decorate your artillery Bases and make your Weapons look like they're in the heat of battle!
You will also find three mounted officers attached. These can be deployed as commanders to direct your artillery, or if you wish, as colonels or brigade commanders for your infantry or cavalry. Adequate head and arm options are provided for whatever option you choose.
