Description

The Cataphractii Terminator armor was originally a prototype for the later Terminator armor first used by the Space Marine legions and the Legio Custodes warriors during the era of the Great Crusade and the Horus Heresy. Although in many ways similar to the standard Indomitus-patterned Terminator armor worn by the Adeptus Astartes of the late '41, it featured a helmet similar to that used by the Power Armor's Mark III Iron Pattern suit.

Although use of the Cataphractii pattern was rare prior to the Horus Heresy, some legions, such as the Sons of Horus and the Iron Hands, possessed large numbers of these suits. The Iron Hands Legion passed these suits on to their successor Chapters during the second founding of the early 31st millennium.

Exo armor technology was originally developed during humanity's dark age of technology. These sealed environmental suits allowed spacecraft maintenance crews to operate in extremely hazardous environments, such as B. in high vacuum or under other adverse atmospheric conditions. During the Great Crusade era of the late 30th and early 31st millennium, the Mechanicum received a steady influx of new and rediscovered technologies from each planet brought into Imperial conformity.

Terminator suits are the ultimate personal armor technology gifted to the finest veteran troops of the Legiones Astartes. Squads clad in Terminator armor become devastating frontline assault units, able to withstand the heaviest enemy fire and unleash a ruthless hammer blow to crush their foes. Cataphractii suits are among the earliest designs of Terminator armor and are still the most heavily protected of their kind, with plate-like ceramite shoulders housing additional shield generators at the expense of mobility.

This multi-part plastic kit makes 10 Cataphractii Terminators for use in games of Warhammer: The Horus Heresy as a squad of 10 models or two units of 5 models. Each of these Terminators is armed with a Phobos-pattern combo-bolter and either a power fist, chain fist or lightning claw - you can also swap out the combo-bolter for a pair of lightning claws. The box also contains two power swords, as well as two heavy flamethrowers and two grenade harnesses. Components are included to build a Cataphractii Sergeant for each of your squads and the kit offers many interchangeable components to make your Terminators look unique such as: B. A variety of different heads, loincloths, breastplate designs and shield insignia.

This set comes as 196 plastic components, and is supplied with 10 Citadel 40mm Round Bases. Also included is a Legiones Astartes Infantry Transfer Sheet with 339 optional markings and iconography for the Sons of Horus and Imperial Fists Legions. These Miniatures are supplied unpainted and require assembly - we recommend using Citadel Plastic Glue and Citadel Paints.
