The Gellerpox is a new plague created by the Chaos God Nurgle, created after the creation of the Great Rift, and targets those operating the Geller Field generators on the Empire's starships. Those afflicted with this disease organize themselves into warbands of Chaos Mutants known as the Gellerpox Infected.
The Gellerpox initially causes strange dreams among the Geller Field Operators, who subtly manipulate them to remove the wards on the priceless generators and willfully sabotage their work on the machines. Once the Gellerpox infection reaches its peak, the Gellerfield generators and their operators merge into a terrifying union, transforming the starships' lower decks into billowing bio-organic hellscapes from which hordes of mutants swarm. As a result of the plague, Gellerpox cults have begun to pop up across the galaxy.
The Gellerpox pox's transmutative power is not limited to just humans or organic creatures such as rodents and parasites, but corrupts entire ships along with their crew. At the height of an infestation, the Gellerpox virus opens a tiny rift in the warp. Glitchlings emerge from this hole.
Foul warbands stricken by a vicious techno-organic plague, the Gellerpox-infected are nightmarish amalgamations of festering flesh and malevolent machines. These hideous beings may have once been the God-Emperor's faithful servants, roaming the void beneath the safety of a Geller's Field -- such days are long gone, snuffed out by supernatural diseases and a merry urge to spread their infection across the stars.
