Arkanaut Frigate
The Arkanaut Frigate represents centuries of refinement by the shipwrights of the Endrineers Guild. Its design struck a balance between speed, transport capacity, and firepower to create a versatile vehicle that could serve as a mainstay for air fleets. With its sleek hull and powerful buoyancy Endrin, the Arkanaut Frigate is fast enough to outrun a ravenous blob and has enough power to evade the gravitational drag of a density hole.
While a frigate's cargo holds are tiny compared to the massive Aetherhulks or cloud dredgers used for mining, these vehicles carry few weapons and move at speeds that can hardly cause a flag to wave. Among the core ships of the air fleet, only the Arkanaut Ironclad has more firepower than the Arkanaut Frigate. The frigate's main gun is mounted on the forecastle in a turret that can be fitted with either a heavy sky cannon or a harpoon-like heavy sky hook, weapons that are as devastating in war as they are in the Kharadron's hunt for the monstrous Creatures that roam the skies roam. far beyond Chamon. Bow-mounted ball turrets house Aethershot carbines that fire a deadly blast of shot with high-velocity salvos, and the vehicle's payload of Grudge Settler bombs can devastate tightly packed ground targets. Should attackers attempt to board the frigate, blast drills will be triggered, ripping up the Terrain in a chain of seismic blasts to halt enemy maneuvers. The ship is similarly well defended against aerial threats - many Harkraken tentacles have slithered out of the clouds to grab an Arkanaut Frigate, only to be repelled by exploding skymines.
Arkanaut Frigates can be found in all air fleets. They form the backbone of the patrols that secure the airspace around every major skyport. For smaller trading companies, Arkanaut Frigates can even transport goods, although they usually act as escorts for the merchant fleets. In small-scale mining operations, Arkanaut Frigates perform all of the ship's related tasks - hunting for Aether-Gold seams, dredging and siphoning clouds, and transporting the unrefined gases. In larger operations, the Arkanaut Frigates are still deployed, but their role is focused on protecting vulnerable mine trawlers and tankers. However, the Arkanaut Frigate's versatility shouldn't distract from the fact that the Kharadron Overlords designed her as a warship and that she really excels in combat.
During the break of the Demon Blockade of Barak-Zon, the Arkanaut Frigates of all Skyports took up a formation line next to each other. They emanated such tremendous firepower that not only did the arcane chain that threatened to strangle the floating city snap, but the flying demon armies were completely wiped out. Beasts and tribesmen in the Kharzdon Mountains alike gazed up at the sky and saw strange flickering lights, unaware that the phenomenon was caused by the demons' spectacular demise, visible even in broad daylight. Even a trio of Arkanaut Frigates pack a terrifying amount of firepower, as the Battle of Grimlock Pass proved. There, a small fleet of Barak-Nar was enough to stop the Waaagh! Ironteef and rescued several mountaintop trading posts in this region. No greenskin has dared climb the pass since then.
With this kit you get all the Parts you need to build an Arkanaut Frigate. This ship is smaller than an Ironclad but larger than a Gunhauler. As a weapon option, you can build in a Heavy Sky Cannon or a Heavy Skyhook, which are attached to the front of the fuselage. You can also equip the following: Grudge settler bombs, demolition drills and air mines. For ram speed mute attacks, the crew has access to Belaying Valves.
This kit comes as 88 components, and is supplied with a Citadel 120mm Oval base and a 50mm Ball-Head Flying Staff.
