The Heimin class consists primarily of farmers, artisans, and merchants. But these peasants know the true masters of the prefecture and still follow them when they go to war. Unseen by most samurai and living far from the cities of Jwar, most villages are unaware that the Shiho no longer control the prefecture, while others remain loyal to their old Shiho masters. Those loyal to the eagle remember the days before the tsunami, before the masked dead, before the Savage Wave, before the Takashi went to war to claim the Shiho. But they know deep in their hearts and in their prayers that once more the eagle will rise victorious and cover Jwar with its wings.
As you might expect, the pawns in the game aren't very impressive, but the Uncloak Ki Feat means any of them could have been a Shiho Samurai all along! Now you die! Surprise!
If you field three of these, the opponents must play as if they are all samurai until they reveal themselves, and you can decide during gameplay which are samurai and which are harmless pawns. Combined with the Shiho Samurai's ubiquitous flanking trait, this is a powerful way to control where the fight will take place.
