Blood Knights
Blood Knights are elite vampire warriors who have dedicated their long existence to mastering the martial arts. Mounted on giant undead chargers known as Nightmares and clad in thick suits of scalloped tin, they ride at the head of the Gravelord hosts. Though Vampires with circumspect persuasion may deem the blood knights arrogant or ruthless, in reality these cavaliers are simply adept at using their deadly abilities and unlife's unique blessings to their fullest. A blood knight can direct his nightmare with pinpoint precision; Immune to pain and distraction, their steeds force them to trample the ranks of lesser warriors in search of worthy enemies without slowing down. Blood Knights bask in the spray of arterial blood across their armor as they open throats and veins, enlivened by carnage and eternally compelled to seek new heights of battlefield glory.
Blood Knights often gather into House Guards and itinerant warrior bands, each with their own traditions. It is said that their primogenitor quenched his thirst by drinking the blood of a king among dragons, and many blood knights chose to carry the image of a snarling dragon on their banners to recognize this accomplishment. The Order of the Bloody Rose seeks battle far and wide, even allying with the living when it offers greater opportunities for slaughter. The Brethren of the Wolf Rampant ride alongside the hosts of Radukar, laughing and chasing those who try to flee Ulfenkarn. But though blood knights adhere to strict rules of battle, and some even possess a perverse sense of honor and a desire to control their innate thirst for blood, many are murderous beasts obsessed with glory, fighting and hearing the screams of the dying beneath the iron-shod hooves of their steeds .
This kit contains 67 plastic components with which to build 5 Blood Knights, armed with either a templar lance or sword and with a choice of helmeted or bare heads. One can be built as a castellan unit leader, equipped with a unique helm, winged armor and a mace, and one can be built as a standard bearer. These models are supplied with 5x Citadel 75mm Oval Bases.
