The sea was calm, the kind of tranquil that lulled even the most seasoned sailors into a sense of security. The sun shimmered off the water's surface, casting golden reflections across the gentle waves, while cool ocean breezes filled the sails of The Indomitable. The crew was hard at work, as they always were—oarsmen rowing in steady rhythm, sailors calling out in song, and the ship cutting through the water with ease.

Then, it arrived.

Without warning, the calm ocean turned into a nightmare. The water, once placid, churned with unnatural fury. The crew barely had time to react as a shadow rose beneath them—massive and ancient. In mere moments, The Indomitable was no more than splintered wood, tossed like a toy in the maw of the Giant Kraken.

For those killed instantly, it was a mercy. The others were not so fortunate. As they floated amid the wreckage, they had time—time to comprehend the horror that had unfolded around them. The endless depths of the ocean yawned beneath their feet, while above them, the Kraken’s colossal form loomed, its vast tentacles snaking through the water, ready to claim what was left.

The creature was an embodiment of pure terror, with its gaping maw, each tendril a force of destruction. The sea had always been feared for what lay beneath, but for the survivors of The Indomitable, that fear was now all too real.
