Genestealer Cults Broodcoven
This box contains all the parts necessary to assemble the Broodcoven, a formation from Codex: Genestealer Cults. Genestealer Patriarch
A Genestealer Patriarch is the founder and leader of a Genestealer Cult.
The patriarch is always the oldest pure tribe of the cult. As the group's first Genestealer, all other members are psychically connected through her; This causes it to reach a much higher level of intelligence than other Genestealers. Over time it can become a very powerful psyker; It grows in size and strength, acquiring a bloated and immobile appearance. A patriarch whose cult is about to take over a world becomes a psychic beacon, luring Tyranids to the planet; As the Tyranids approach, it will fall under the power of the Tyranid Hive Mind and begin to lead the cult in assaults on vulnerable positions to facilitate the inevitable invasion. It is believed to be unaware of its role in the Tyranid invasion, and once the Tyranids are successful, it and the Brood are also consumed by the Hive Fleet.
Twice the size of a Space Marine and strong enough to chop an ogryn to bloody chunks, this creature is a grinning nightmare of tooth and claw. In a whirl of whipping limbs and diamond-hard claws, the Patriarch can smash through platoons of heavily armored warriors and even light vehicles. But it is the hypnotic spell it uses to bind its chosen hosts that marks it out as perhaps the most dangerous Tyranid the Empire has yet encountered. The Patriarch's uncanny powers make him a terrifying puppeteer of a threat so pervasive it's even dubbed the Xenocode Menace. By spreading the Genestealer curse, this creature is capable of destroying not just warriors and war machines, but entire worlds.
Patriarchs are known to live for hundreds of years and are virtually immortal unless killed. They are viewed by the cult as a "father" figure and should their destruction occur the cult would be thrown into disarray. Eventually, however, the next most senior Pure Tribe Genestealer would assume the role of Patriarch. The relationship between a Patriarch and a Broodlord (if there is one) is unknown.
Genestealer Primus
A Genestealer Primus is a type of 3rd or 4th generation Genestealer cult hybrid. While the Magus' role is to corrupt, the Primus exists only to lead his cult to war. A Primus emerges from hiding only when the cult is willing to act openly; He is a war leader whose natural ferocity is paired with the finest stolen weapons and gear the cult has to offer.
The Primus is a wartime commander, but while the cult is still in hiding, it is his duty to spread the Genestealer Cult to other planets. His innate talent for leadership and coordination allows him to militarize the cult in short order and push for takeovers of vehicles and even spacecraft. A potent champion and celebrated hero of the Brood, the Primus only emerges when the cult reaches a position of strength. Such individuals appear in an early generation, but typically not before the third or subsequent cycles. The need to trigger the creation of a Primus is either when the cult's numbers reach a critical mass, their numbers and influence sufficient to take over a loot world, or when a hive fleet appears on the fringes of that planet's system. The unique quirk of the Primus in the Genestealer lifecycle occurs independently, encouraging the development of a particularly hardy host to produce a largely humanoid warrior of astounding strength and tactical cunning. While a Magus possesses mental acuity and telepathic powers rivaling a Space Marine Librarian, the Primus possesses supernatural dexterity and focus that can cause him to trip opponents twice his size .
The Primus' gear complements its approach to stealth and guile, allowing it to strike down those in its path without drawing unwanted attention. Each Primus girds himself with the best gear the cult can provide, distilling poisons from his own virulent bloodstream and delivering them via silent needle guns and paralytic poison claws. Some wield strange, sentient swords believed to have grown from the bony secretions of the Patriarch's biothrone - these blades are not only symbols of the cult father's trust, but deadly weapons that can steal the life force they strike , to leave only withered pods.
Should the cult survive its inevitable power struggles, it will be the Primus that will lead them to fresh prey, where the Purestrain Genestealers will begin the cycle of infection and insurgency anew
Genestealer Magus
A Magos is a high-ranking member of the Adeptus Mechanicus and a devoted follower of the principles associated with the Machine God. These individuals have perfected and refined their field, making them masters of a particular discipline.
Their devotion has led them to sacrifice large parts of their bodies to mimic the machine's sacred form. After decades of service, a Magos has replaced many of its organs and limbs with superior cybernetic implants. As befits the Cult Mechanicus, these spare limbs and organs never tire or weaken with age, emphasizing the machine's greatness.
