Engine of the Gods
Engines of the Gods are powerful relics of the Elders mounted on Ancient Stegadons by the Lizardmen during the War and first used by the Prophet of Sotek, Tehenhauin. Only the most revered ancient Stegadone have the strength and temperament to wield the archaic artifacts. If the Lizardmen ever had the knowledge of how these ancient wonders worked, they lost it long ago. However, they do know how to activate them - when the glyphs are touched in the correct order, the device blazes with arcane energies.
The Engine of the Gods possesses mysterious powers that can protect nearby Lizardmen or emit beams to devastate their enemies. Even the winds of magic can be better siphoned off to aid in casting spells in the presence of such a powerful contraption. There are only a handful of the machines, and they are hidden in temple vaults and are rarely spawned. They often serve as war mounts for skink priests of great importance and are used to anchor a battle line. The first to use the machines of the gods was Tehenhauin, the prophet of Sotek. At the height of the Siege of Quetza, Tehenhauin led his students into the surrounding jungle. They returned three days later, with the entire party riding Ancient Stegadons carrying machines of the gods and using them to destroy the Skaven. Since then, the Engines of the Gods have only been deployed when they are most needed, as the loss of a single one can irrevocably jeopardize the great plan of the Lizardmen's long-gone creator gods.
