The Hare Clan are masters of the art of war. For her, it has become a lifelong academic pursuit. They seek to turn often-overlooked components into battlefield advantages. Take for example the humble dog, not so humble in the hands of the rabbit clan. They have long been trained to fulfill a variety of roles on the battlefield. Some are messengers who go from tent to tent or position to position, delivering important messages or relevant information. Some dogs are used to guard camps at night, equipped to track down the enemy or potential intruders or assassins. Dog handlers are ashigaru and can operate with multiple dogs in a pack depending on the task. Edogowa and his dogs are accustomed to scouting ahead, ascertaining the lay of the land, and then sending the information back to their lines.
A prefectural warband can benefit greatly from having Edogawa and his hounds on their side. Aki is a messenger dog who runs notes back and forth. Having a samurai in the herd grants them the powerful order trait, allowing up to three ashigaru to gain an additional activation. Emi, on the other hand, is a well-trained guard dog. So if someone tries to surprise a friendly model, it must first test against Emi or nullify its advantage.
