Runesmiths are the closest thing Dwarfs have to magic users, mastering the ancient craft of inscribing powerful Runes into metal. The most venerable among them are known as Runemasters or Runelords. These skilled artisans can neutralize enemy spells, capturing their power similarly to how they harness the Winds of Magic to create enchanted Rune items.

Runesmiths emit a potent aura, enhancing the effectiveness of their own weapons and those of nearby allies. In Barak Varr, some Runesmiths join Dwarf fleets, especially if they have crafted powerful artifacts for the vessels. At sea, they defend against enemy magic and bolster the resilience and firepower of their ships through their expert runecraft.
