Dwarf Ironbreakers

Ironbreakers are the elite defenders of Dwarf strongholds, renowned for their unmatched bravery and resilience. Clad in magnificent Gromril armor and wielding Rune weapons, they stand as the first line of defense against the monstrous threats lurking in the deep, abandoned tunnels—Night Goblins, Skaven, Trolls, and more sinister Creatures. These warriors spend most of their time below ground, in the least-visited Parts of the stronghold, where ambushes and rockfalls are common hazards.

The Ironbreakers' heavy armor, crafted by the finest smiths and engraved with protective runes, is essential for their survival in these perilous conditions. Fighting in tight formations within narrow tunnels, they find defensible positions and let the enemy break upon their overlapping shields, forming an impenetrable line that holds back the flood of terror from below.

Serving as an Ironbreaker is a great honor, reserved for the strongest

and bravest Dwarfs. They must take vows to remain resolute and bold, even in the absence of a king, lord, or thane. Behind them lie the treasured halls and ancestral tombs carved out by their forefathers, while before them stretches the all-consuming darkness that threatens their hold.

Ironbreakers are led by seasoned veterans known as Ironbeards, who are experts in the layout of the undertunnels and adept at maneuvering their units into strategic positions. They call out battle formations like the "box of iron" or the "steel square," ensuring their regiment remains unbreakable. Such is their reputation that Ironbreakers are often called upon to fight on the surface when the full might of a Dwarf throng is needed.
