The year is 2679. One hundred and sixty years ago, humanity was forced from its homeworlds by the relentless invasion of the Scourge. This parasitic alien race, intent on capturing or destroying every living being, overwhelmed mankind’s defenses and drove them from Earth and the Cradle Worlds. In a desperate escape, humanity fled to the far-off Colonies, leaving behind their ancestral home.
Now, the United Colonies of Mankind (UCM) have returned to reclaim what was lost in a bitter and bloody campaign known as the Reconquest. But the UCM faces more than just the Scourge. The ancient and advanced Shaltari, the abandonist forces of the Post-Human Republic, and even the embittered Resistance, fighting from within occupied worlds, stand in the way of their efforts to retake their home.
Dropfleet Commander is a game of intense, planet-bound fleet combat set in the far future. Command colossal warships, unleash squadrons of strike craft, and deploy ground forces in strategic battles fought over a war-torn planet. Victory comes from seizing critical ground and space objectives, but a sharp tactical mind is required to outmaneuver opponents and ensure the safe deployment of your forces. You’ll need to anticipate the flow of battle, counter enemy moves, and control the battlefield to achieve victory.
