Dracothian Guard
The Dracothian Guard consists of four different types of entourage, divided into two squadrons. The Dracothian Guard struck fast and hard in successive waves, as each immortal man and celestially empowered beast is chosen, equipped, and trained for a specific role on the battlefield.
The fighting heart of the Extremis Vault consists of the Dracothian Guard – heavily armored knights mounted atop muscular reptilian beasts who fulfill the role of the Stormcast Eternals' shock cavalry. Her load is a battering ram, a destructive wedge capable of shattering enemy armies in a wave of claws, crackling Weapons, and heavenly lightning.
Like the older Stardrakes, the Dracoths are trying to restore order. However, Dracoths are far less patient than their larger kin and far more willing to charge into battle at the first opportunity. Such a temper is befitting, for those Stormcasts who succeed in the Trials of Starwalking are invariably the boldest and bravest of their kind. Together, rider and beast seek to seek out the enemy and wreak bloody vengeance upon them.
The retinue and squadron a Dracoth or Stormcast Eternal is assigned to within the Dracothian Guard depends on their abilities and individual characteristics. The most aggressive of all are destined to be Fulminators - the tip of the spear and the first to lead the Lightning Echelon into battle. Regardless of the odds, these individuals seek out the enemy as quickly as possible. Only the best marksmen become Tempestors, and the Dracoths chosen for this entourage are the quickest witted. It's their job to maneuver into position as their rider aims and fires, each movement a balance between aiming for the best firing angles and staying close to the magical protection offered by the Fulminator's Stormstrike glaives. Of all Dracothian Guards, these henchmen are the most likely to fight in a fluid style - responding to targets of opportunity or retreating to deflect threats on the Guard's flanks. Such adaptability requires the most independent of Dracoths.
The primary retainers of Thunderwave Squadron are the Concussors. Their riders and beasts alike are chosen for strength and combat prowess, for it is the ferocious shock of their charge that primes the foe for the ultimate strike. The following followers are ruthless, because it is their duty to finish off the enemy. All of them. The Stormcast Eternals and Dracoths-turned-Desolators are uncompromising and absolutely determined to demand total vengeance. You have the final judgement.
Once assigned to an entourage, a Dracothian Guard does not change role. However, Stormcasts from the Paladin Conclaves must pass the Trials of Starwalking each time they are reforged. Some warriors who fail their first venture succeed in later trials. For example, some paladins have abandoned their old retainers after taming a Dracoth and joined the Extremis Vault instead.
