Desolators
The Dracothian Guard consists of four different types of entourage, divided into two squadrons. The Dracothian Guard struck fast and hard in successive waves, while each immortal man and heavenly-empowered beast was chosen, equipped, and trained for a specific role on the battlefield.
The fighting heart of the Extremis Vault consists of the Dracothian Guard – heavily armored knights mounted atop muscular reptilian beasts who fulfill the role of the Stormcast Eternals' shock cavalry. Her load is a battering ram, a destructive wedge capable of crushing enemy armies in a wave of claws, crackling weapons, and heavenly lightning.
Like the older Stardrakes, the Dracoths are trying to restore order. However, Dracoths are far less patient than their larger kin and far more willing to charge into battle at the first opportunity. Such a temper is befitting, for the Stormcasts who succeed in the Trials of Starwalking are invariably the boldest and bravest of their kind. Together, rider and beast strive to track down the enemy and wreak bloody vengeance on them.
Which retinue and squadron a Dracoth or Stormcast Eternal is assigned to within the Dracothian Guard depends on its abilities and individual characteristics. The Stormcast Eternals and Dracoths-turned-Desolators are uncompromising and absolutely determined to demand total vengeance. They are the final judgement.
Once assigned to an entourage, a Dracothian Guard does not change role. However, Stormcasts from the Paladin Conclaves must pass the Trials of Starwalking each time they are reforged. Some warriors who fail their first venture succeed in later trials. For example, some paladins left their old retainers after taming a Dracoth and joined the Extremis Vault instead.
