The Type 97 Chi-Ha was one of the most produced Japanese medium tanks of World War II, and for good reason. With extensive action in the Second Sino-Japanese War, the Battles of Khalkhin Gol against the Soviet Union, and throughout World War II, this tank proved its worth time and time again.

The Chi-Ha featured a unique design, with the driver sitting on the right and the hull machine gunner to the left. The tank commander also acted as the gunner, assisted by a loader, radioman, and rear machine-gunner. And while it lacked a coaxial machine gun, it made up for it with a rear turret machine-gun and a relatively large commander cupola.
