Charnel Throne
Charnel Thrones are constructions of bone and magic, raised by ghoulish hands to serve as seats of power for their liege lords. The bones used in a Charnel Throne's manufacture are traditionally sourced from those killed by the monarch for whom the throne is made. The throne exudes a palpable aura of death and madness, which only grows over time as the arcane delusions that afflict its occupant seep deep into its bones.
Some abhorrant monarchs order their vassals to bring along their favoured seat when marching to war and in battle have it set up at a suitable vantage point to watch and direct the manoeuvring of the army. Other times, multiple thrones are built throughout the kingdom, with the monarch taking their seat on the one most appropriate for the moment. In any case, the thrones are a powerful reminder of the authority of the ruler of the land; a steward or regent might sit on a throne in the monarch's absence, but they are sharply aware that, should the rightful ruler return, the temporary occupant must immediately give up the throne and the authority it represents.
