Chaplain Grimaldus & Retinue

Merek Grimaldus, the "Hero of Helsreach", is the Reclusiarch of the Black Templars Space Marines Chapter. Grimaldus is also a noted veteran of the Third Armageddon War.

During the Battle of Hive Helsreach, Grimaldus led the defense of the Temple of the Emperor Ascendant, which had stood since Armageddon's colonization. The battle became so heated that the building itself collapsed around the fighters.

It was believed that everyone in the building had perished until Grimaldus, bloodied but unharmed, climbed out of the rubble and carrying three of the temple's artifacts - a pillar from its main altar, the banner of the victorious emperor, and holy water from the stoup of Enlightenment.

The Black Templar apothecaries who later examined him were amazed that Grimaldus had survived. When the war ended, the citizens of the Helsreach host honored him with the title "Hero of Helsreach" and bowed before his death.

No battle is so bleak that Grimaldus' appearance cannot turn the tide and reignite the fire in his brothers' hearts. Then an enemy who thought the battle won will be besieged again and shattered by a tide of zealots, arms infused with fresh strength, with Grimaldus at their head, bringing another victory to his Emperor.

Chaplain Grimaldus is a veteran of twenty successful Black Templar Crusades. His rise through the ranks of the Order was meteoric, for he was once the youngest Sword Brother in the Order's history.

Chaplain Grimaldus knows the power of faith well and brings with him icons of devoted fervor to that end. In battle, he is accompanied by a group of Cenobyte Servitors who carry the relics rescued from the Temple of the Emperor Ascendant in Hive Helsreach.

These icons are silent reminders that glory and honor come with sacrifice, and they are carried into battle to inspire the black templar to ever greater zeal.

The kit comes as 40 plastic components with which to assemble one Chaplain Grimaldus and his three Cenobyte Servitors, and is supplied with one Citadel 40mm Round base and three Citadel 28mm Round Bases. These miniatures are supplied unpainted and require assembly - we recommend using Citadel Plastic Glue and Citadel Paints.
