Chaos Maulerfiend

A Maulerfiend is a Daemon Engine used by the Traitor Legions of the Chaos Space Marines and the forces of the Dark Mechanicum. Unlike its counterpart, the Chaos Forgefiend, the Maulerfiend was developed by the Warpsmiths of the Dark Mechanicum for close combat. Maulerfiends thunder towards their enemies like giant attack beasts that have been released from their leashes. The beasts' eyes glow in the doomfire of the Warp, while ectoplasmic drool trickles down through their large, fanged mouths.

The Maulerfiend's primary limbs terminate in prehensile, claw-armed Power Fists strong enough to tear an Astartes Dreadnought limb from limb. Should a Maulerfiend catch a squad of less protected warriors, it will shear them apart or simply press them into a paste with a span of its claws and a contented growl.

The Maulerfiend is also known to Imperial troops as the "Stalker Tank" or "Scaler", as these many-limbed monsters have the strength and agility to scale even the steepest walls, and no place is truly safe from a Maulerfiend that has scent of its prey.

Chaos Lords often use Maulerfiends to disable or destroy heavily armoured targets, as the beasts can seize vehicles or emplacements and use their forward, claw-armoured Power Fists to hold their target, while the Magma Cutters that protrude from their torso can focus the raw demonic fury that burns within into a white-hot flame that can melt through rock concrete as thick as bastion walls. Many Imperial Titans have been felled by Maulerfiends who climbed up its legs and cut through its joints with its claws and pinpoint magma blasts and adamantium claws.

Some Maulerfiends serve their masters as demonic battering rams, racing headlong through enemy lines. They defend against counter-attacks with segmented tendrils that lash out from their chests to crush and confuse those around them who would try to halt their advance. These "whippersnappers" gorge themselves on the hot flesh of their victims until their blunt snouts drip with blood in a twisted parody of food intake, though they cannot draw sustenance from mortal flesh.

Once a Maulerfiend has attached itself to an enemy war machine or fortress, the destruction of its target is all but certain. If even a single Maulerfiend makes it to the walls of an enemy position, it will climb over the steep walls and tap with its clawed pincers until it finds a weak spot before ripping open a large section and making its way inside.

 This multi-part plastic kit contains 67 Parts and a large oval base to build a Maulerfiend or Forgefiend of the Chaos Space Marines. The heads and arms are interchangeable in this kit. This kit comes unpainted and must be assembled.
