This new campaign add-on for Bolt Action allows players to recreate the Historic island-hopping battles between US and Imperial Japanese forces in the Pacific Rim that took place in 1944. Even as the Allies stormed the beaches of Normandy, US forces began charging across the Pacific in their own blitzkrieg, fighting bitter and savage battles on tiny strips of land against stubborn Japanese defenders.
The battles described deal specifically with the campaigns of the Mariana and Palau Islands, and a number of battles are detailed, including those of Saipan, Guam, Peleliu, and Anguar. The fighting during these campaigns was controversial and bloody, in some cases rivaling the Battle of Stalingrad for sheer inhumanity. Although there were many other battles in these campaigns, their number makes it impossible to fully describe them all in a single volume. The book gives players enough Tools to recreate all of the other battles themselves if they wish.
A wealth of scenarios are included to depict some of the key battles and are presented to form an extended campaign. You'll find new units for the Japanese and the United States (both US Army and Marines) and all the special rules you need to play; These include those for amphibious assaults, burrowed defenders, and tropical hazards, among others.
