Brokk Grungsson

It takes sheer audacity to attain the rank of admiral in the fleets of the Kharadron Overlords. It will take even more daring and numerous lucrative triumphs to become Lord Magnate of Barak-Nar. Despite these accolades, Brokk Grungsson strives for more.

Brokk Grungsson is an example of the Kharadron Overlord's homebuilt privateer. He is rapacious in his pursuit of Aethergold and daring in his explorations of the celestial wonders of Chamon. Brokk Grungsson is the only admiral to have successfully led a fleet around the Spire, the fabled Horn of Chamon. He is hailed as the victor of the Battle of Stratis Skull, and when all the skyports joined forces to break the siege of Barak-Zon, Brokk was elected High Admiral of the combined fleets. He personally led the counterattacks that ended the time of dispute with Barak-Mhornar, and the greater demon known as the Lord of Chrystal Flame was slain by his hand. Conquering the aetheric cloud ring of Dharz—the richest loot ever brought back to Barak-Var—is another of Brokk's long list of achievements.

Back when Brokk was a Bartling, his father Grung hadn't made a pattern press while he was at Arkanaut Academy, instead finding work on the docks. As a result, Grung kept telling his son stories of a lifetime of aviation adventures that he had longed for himself. Fed by all the tales of famous captains, Brokk vowed to make a name for himself, aiming to rise to the rank of Grand Admiral of the Council.

During his own time at the academy - and ever since - Brokk lived by a central tenet of the code: spoils to the victor. His daring knew no bounds, and as a young arcanaut working his way through the ranks, Brokk's deeds soon earned him medals, commendations, and most importantly, more shares. After only a decade aboard the air fleets, Brokk was made Captain when his predecessor was lost in an attack by a rampaging Harkraken

When Barak-Nar led a fleet to drive back the greenskins that had taken over the floating island of Madralta, he named Brokk Grungsson Lord-Magnate. Aside from promotion to the Council of Admirals, this is the highest honor that can be bestowed upon a commander of Arkanaut. It granted him the right to wield a zhaktopper - a symbol of high status among the arcanauts.

Though Brokk Grungsson has brought plenty of fortune to Barak-Nar with trawlers, he has yet to achieve his goal of a seat on the Admiralty Council. While not yet reaching the profit levels of the current six members, he is closing fast, and is drawn to the fact that the current incumbents have amassed their wealth over several centuries while Brokk is still considered young after the life of the duardin meteoric rise even more spectacular. But commanding air fleets is dangerous work, and many who looked destined to claim a seat on Skyport's governing council have fallen—rather than gaining glory, their names have been solemnly carved on the rocks of memory. However, Brokk's natural aeronautical abilities and aggressive nature have always led him to lead from the front and achieved many successes and fleet masters hear of his exploits constantly

Brokk capitalized on his growing wealth and commissioned Barak-Zilfin's Master Endrineer Durek Coghammer to create a magnificent, custom-made dirigible suit. This aether-powered exo-armor not only gives Brokk the power of flight, but also contains an array of advanced weapons, including a pair of mustachioed aether blasters, a multi-barreled cannon he refers to as the magnate's charter, and a sizable cannon called Grungsson's Boast. Brokk has perfected the art of landing in the middle of a melee, dropping the significant weight of his Oneduardin flight suit directly at his target while slashing around them with the whirling blade of his aethermatic saw. In battle, Brokk's favored strategy is to issue the fleet's commands before leading his Skyriggers in bold maneuvers to defeat the greatest threat among the enemy, be it commander, Shi
