The legacy of each Space Marine Chapter is heavily shaped by the events of the Horus Heresy, but few chapters bear the scars of betrayal as clearly as the Blood Angels. The death of their beloved Primarch, Sanguinius, weighs heavily on the hearts of all Blood Angels and left them with a terrible genetic curse: the Black Rage. This affliction leads to violent, all-consuming madness. Those who succumb to this madness are inducted into the Death Company, where they are deployed as shock troops, seeking redemption through a glorious death on the battlefield.

The Blood Angels Army Set includes an impressive force of Death Company troops, led by Lemartes, the Guardian of the Lost, and Astorath the Grim, both reimagined in stunning new plastic miniatures. Joining them are 10 Jump Pack Intercessors, 10 Assault Intercessors, and a terrifying Brutalis Dreadnought.

These units can be transformed into their Death Company variants from the Codex using the four new Blood Angels upgrade kits included in the set. Each upgrade kit contains a wealth of sculpted shoulder pads, Terminator Sergeant components, extra weapons, heads, specific Death Company pieces for use with Mk X Tacticus armor, vehicle icons, and a whole reliquary's worth of relics and icons. To top it all off, a new Death Company transfer sheet featuring 293 decals is included.
