Auric Hearthguard

Auric Hearthguards are the protectors of the forge temples of Fyreslayer Duardin and his priesthood. As the trusted guardians of a lodge's magma vault, they are the elite honored with protecting the ur-gold earned by their brother and also guarding the spirit of Grimnir. They are ancient warriors who have fought for the lodges for decades or centuries and are among the most skilled warriors. Their goal is to attack and hit the enemy first for their god. In battle, they traditionally fight alongside Runemasters and Runesmiters, protecting them from harm.

Equipment

They march to war with Magmapikes, magical glaives that spew molten rock that scorches, melts, and ignites almost anything. Those who survive find themselves trapped in the cooled, solidified magma, with the Hearthguard then stepping in to deal the final blow with their razor horns. Crafted at the heart of her forge temple, these weapons are imbued with fire runes that grant her abilities. They wear minimal armor, the most notable piece of which is their elaborate Drake helms. They also often use these weapons to capture wild Magmadroths.
