Astra Militarum Basilisk
Overview
The Basilisk is the most frequently used artillery unit of the Astra Militarum. It also uses the body of the Chimera and is therefore considered to be lightly armored. This design gives the Basilisk a high degree of mobility. It can also be used as a tank destroyer or howitzer, although this is rarely used due to its high susceptibility to enemy fire. Overall, the Basilisk stays away from the front line and supports the advancing troops with devastating fire.
Armament
The Basilisk is armed with a massive Earthshaker cannon. The powerful shells fired from a Basilisk are capable of shattering both infantry and vehicles with ease, and the unmistakable scream of its incoming ammunition is rightly feared by the Emperor's enemies. This 132mm cannon can be equipped with various types of ammunition. Depending on the situation and necessity, it can be equipped with incendiary ammunition, smoke grenades or even illuminating ammunition. This flexibility combined with its high mobility makes the Basilisk one of the most important tanks of the Astra Militarum.
