Armiger Warglaives
An Armiger Warglaive is the lightest class of Imperial Knight Combat Walkers, typically piloted by nobles of lower ancestry than other Knight pilots. Warglaives are long-legged walkers designed to hit critical targets hard and fast. More maneuverable than the primary Imperial Knight designs, these war machines carry heavy weaponry powerful enough to pierce a battle line.
The Armiger warglaive, in particular, is known for the sheer power it packs at close range. Dashing into the fray at shocking speeds, he unleashes a lance-like jet of superheated directed energy from his thermal spear, capable of turning a rock-concrete bunker wall into a pool of bubbling lava. Those hit by the securing charge are hit with an expert swing of Armiger's Reaper Chain-Cleaver, a sawtooth weapon that shreds metal and destroys flesh with each trembling impact.
Despite being the lightest class of Imperial Knights regularly deployed on the battlefields of the 41st Millennium, any Knight Armiger is still a formidable war machine capable of slaughtering entire squads. They possess exceptional speed, able to outrun most main battle tanks and transports when moving at full throttle, and react almost as quickly as a flesh-and-blood warrior. Additionally, to compensate for their comparatively smaller size, Armiger-class knights usually hunt in packs of two or three. In the case of Warglaives, this means they quickly outflank and circle their prey like wolves on the hunt before closing in on a rune-delivered signal to trap and slaughter the enemy.
Unusually for Knights, Armigers are not equipped with a full Throne Mechanicum. Instead, they are controlled with a more compact device known as the Helm Mechanicum. Placed on the head and connected to the pilot's cerebrum via prefrontal sockets, these machines do not require a full becoming ritual for the neural interface to be successful. Because of this, the prestige of piloting an Armiger is significantly less than that associated with sitting on a full-fledged Throne Mechanicum. Add to that the fact that while Armigers can act independently, their Helms Mechanicum are traditionally neurally subordinate to the command impulses of a larger Knight, making them subordinate. To accept such spiritual servitude is to hold the rank of serf, and while this is certainly not a mark of dishonor, it is far from glorious among the nobles of the chivalric worlds.
Weapons
Armiger Warglaives are quick and responsive, dashing toward the enemy with purposeful strides. They wear fearsome Reaper Chain cleaves on one arm, their adamantium teeth whirr, their drive motors roar. On the other arm they carry menacing Thermal Spears, bulky Melta Weapons that are essentially stripped-down equivalents of the Knight Errant's Thermal Cannon. A single shot from such a weapon can vaporize even the most protected fighter, melt through a bunker wall, or turn a main battle tank into a molten wreck. On top of their armor, each Warglaive also carries a Heavy Stubber to harvest infantry, or a Meltagun to bolster their already fearsome anti-tank capabilities.
Info
This multi-part plastic kit contains the components necessary to assemble 2 Armed Warglaives. Smaller and lighter armored than their larger Imperial Knight brethren, about half the size, they still share many details - the basic shape of these two-legged weapon platforms is similar to a standard Imperial Knight, with 2 weapon arms, hydraulically-powered legs, tilting plate and a large armor, surrounding the central head of the suit. Another common detail with these larger suits is their loading; They are incredibly powerful for their small size. Each is armed with a Reaper chain splitter, a thermal spear and a tank-mounted heavy machine gun, the latter of which can be replaced with a melta gun. 4 unique heads are included in the kit, and both Weapons (with articulation on the shoulder) and legs can be attached to either side of the model, allowing for some pose customization.
This kit comes as 116 components, and is supplied with 2 Citadel 100mm Round Bases and an Armiger transfer sheet.
