Hypatia Class - Versatility and Scandal
The architects of the dystopian age, the Covenant of the Enlightened, employ their vast intellects to sweep aside those ignorant or deceived individuals who stand in the way of scientific progress. These masters of technology crave knowledge above all else and believe that only they can guide humanity towards enlightenment. With their wondrous war machines, they seize every opportunity to showcase their technological superiority. The discoveries that should herald a new era for humanity are instead used to punish those who would abuse them. Only when the Covenant is praised as the rightful leaders of the Earth can the world be led into a new era of success and prosperity.
A Flagship of the Enlightened Fleet: Hypatia Class
The Vault ships were designed as massive floating platforms to unfurl their greater technical and scientific wonders. The Archimedes Class is usually equipped with a Callimachus Chrono-Lathe or a Diophantus Chaos Orb, both of which are so complex and demanding in their construction that they are seen as magical by the unenlightened in the world of the dystopian age.
Other fleets focus on the graceful and superbly equipped Nansen Explorer. Designed for long journeys far from friendly harbors, the Nansen Class features extensive laboratories, training facilities, and cartographic Equipment. In many ways, the Nansen Class embodies the ultimate expression of the Covenant's maritime ambitions.
