Grand Alliance of Order
The Grand Alliance of Order, also known as the "Powers of Order" or simply Order, is the collective term for the deities, armies, and organizations of the mortal races that seek to reclaim the Mortal Realms from Chaos and restore them to their former glory of the age to return the myths.
Purpose
When Morathi spoke to the Great Council of Hammerhal to persuade its members to act against Nagash, the god of death, during the Time of Trouble, she defined the purpose and meaning of order better than any denizen of the Mortal Realms .
She claimed to see the forces of order as champions of progress and civilization, united in their desire to live, celebrate, love and grow old in the world, despite their differences in physical form, culture and methods of warfare service to their chosen gods.
For Morathi, the pursuit of this definition of order is what unites the human, aelf, and duardin races in the Mortal Realms.
Her words persuaded the Grand Conclave to unite when necessary to bolster their numbers, and divide when necessary to conquer realmgates and grant free access to their allies among the other forces of order .
The ultimate goal of the Forces of Order is to destroy their enemies and/or permanently contain the forces of Destruction, Chaos, and Death while spreading the civilization and progress that Order has brought to the Mortal Realms .
Factions
Cities of Sigmar - The cities of Sigmar are blazing beacons of hope amidst the darkness of the Mortal Realms, bastions of civilization built after the Realmgate Wars to protect mortals from the many monstrous menaces that lurk beyond their walls.
Daughters of Khaine - They crave battle and seek power through bloodshed, honoring their deity with every death. Even their closest allies tremble as they witness the bloody rituals that rejuvenate and revitalize these graceful assassins. They are the Daughters of Khaine, and to cross swords with them is to invite death.
Fyreslayers - The Duardin Fyreslayers charge into battle without hesitation, roaring war-cries at a crouching foe while brandishing huge war-axes, the Duardin Fyreslayers are the descendants of the shattered warrior-god Grimnir. They bear runes of gleaming ur-gold hammered into their flesh - ur-gold they believe contains the essence of Grimnir itself, giving it the incredible power they are notorious for.
Idoneth Deepkin - Emerging from the blackness on a surging tide of magic from the depths of the seas of realms. These merciless scavengers seek not only to slaughter or enslave, however, for they are the Idoneth Deepkin - they have come to steal the souls of their victims.
Kharadron Overlords - The Kharadron Overlords are militaristic, mercantile duardin who rule the skies of the Mortal Realms aboard gargantuan skyships and floating skyports powered by a mixture of engineering, burgeoning science, and industrial magic. Fueled by greed for profit and honor like other duardin, they wield wondrous techno-arcane devices powered by aether-gold - the lifeblood of the Kharadron Empire.
Lumineth Realm Lords - The Lumineth Realm Lords are the most stable and pure of Aelf souls, recovered from the womb of the Chaos God Slaanesh. Often mistaken for angelic beings of pure light, the Lumineth are a learned and meticulous people who often consider themselves the most advanced civilization in the realms. Now they go to war in all the glory of days gone by, and at their side are the towering avatars of those magical places, the war forms of Hysh itself.
Seraphon - The seraphon are older than living memory and have existed for eons. They have always waged an endless, cruel war against the forces of chaos. As the Age of Sigmar dawns, they swoop down to strike a vengeful blow against the Dark Gods for destroying their beloved world that was eons ago and seek to bring order to the Mortal Realms. Summoned by the incredible power of the Slann Starmasters, they materialize from the energy of the stars themselves - nimble Skinks, rapacious Saurus, and colossal Kroxigor, all intent on destroying the forces that have corrupted and darkened the Mortal Realms almost beyond repair . Forged from the purest star magic, the seraphon are true beings of Azyr.
Stormcast Eternals - Sometimes referred to simply as the Stormcast, the Stormcast Eternals are superhuman, near-immortal warriors whose souls have been magically reforged by the will of the god-king Sigmar. They now serve as the primary weapons of the Grand Alliance of Order to reclaim the Mortal Realms from the forces of Chaos in the Age of Sigmar.
Sylvaneth - Sometimes called "Alarielle's children" and once known as the tree people of the world-that-was, the sylvaneth are a species of intelligent, usually humanoid tree spirits created by Alarielle, the goddess of life and nature. The sylvaneth's fae spirits are formed of life magic; their physical bodies grew from soul pods located in the Wyldwood.
